“Each one must give as he has decided in his heart, not reluctantly or under compulsion, for God loves a cheerful giver.”
Maryland Men of Faith believes that an outward focus can benefit others as well as ourselves. An offering is collected at each MMOF conference to help further God's work elsewhere, providing new opportunities to reach out and help others. Come to the conference prepared to participate financially. You may also support the annual offering by donating online.
2026 Mission Offering
ZeFaBe Center (Center for Families and Encounters) (Mistelbach, Austria) A self-supporting community outreach center to economically vulnerable Austrians and refugees from Ukraine, Africa, and Middle-East countries. According to the Program Director (Monika Fuchs), ZeFaBe has stayed open and functional despite many other help centers in the region having closed down. Two-thirds of their financial support comes from the thrift store they operate (receive donated items and then sell the items to the public). However they provide free of charge a housing ministry (currently for 5 single mothers and/or refugees), have helped roughly 450 people find housing, including to help them furnish dwellings with donated items, or repairing broken furnishings. Monika says their support of vulnerable women prevents some from having to potentially resort to prostitution. ZeFaBe also provides their clients a food and clothes bank (locals and refugees), sanitary products, social work counseling, a bicycle repair and gifting ministry (many clients cannot afford cars), and gift boxes for children at Christmas and Easter, host a Bible study at their center (taught by a Ukranian pastor) and also refer interested person to the local SDA church. Monika says that they connect "eye to eye, and heart to heart" with their clients, and that many of them (90%) ask questions of a spiritual nature because of the love and support they feel at ZeFaBe. She estimates that they serve between 400-650 people per month, with the help of 65 volunteers - about 1/2 of whom are former/current clients.
Mission Offering Goal: $11,350 to help ZeFaBe complete the purchase of a replacement motor vehicle to carry out its mission. Their current vehicle requires more repair costs than its value, is no longer safe to operate, and is expected to fail its upcoming inspection in November 2026. Replacing ZeFaBe's vehicle is crucial to its mission of transporting donated food, furniture, bicycles, and other valuable items for the thrift store; and also to transport dependent and immobile clients to medical appointments.
Total Funds Raised: Fundraising is currently open and underway for October 2026
2025 mission offering
Sunshine Orchard Learning Center
Located near the border of Thailand and Myanmar, Sunshine Orchard is a refuge of safety and learning for hundreds of refugees fleeing the decades-long Myanmar civil war. Families desperate to flee the war have taken their children across the river border to Thailand, or often sent them unaccompanied. However grave danger lurks along the children's escape to Thailand, as human traffickers have intercepted innocent children to enslave them in the brothels or exploit them in factories of Bangkok. Sunshine Orchard's enrollment has swollen beyond its planned capacity rather than turn away these refugee children, and their facilities were in need of rainwater harvesting infrastructure to supply bathing and bathroom functionality. It also needed propane stoves and storage tanks to increase their food preparation that previously relied upon gathering wood for fires. Sunshine Orchard also sought funds to purchase shelves to form a library for thousands of books stored in boxes for years, and for the purchase of musical instruments for students to learn and minister to others using music.
2024 mission offering
Hatton SDA Church (Sri Lanka)
We expected to support the Moratuwa church, but ending up supporting the Hatton church, whose roof and interior ceiling were in need of replacement in order to prevent damage to the interior of the building. Due to the poverty-level resources of its membership, the church was unable to afford to make these repairs on its own. Without outside help, the church building would likely have deteriorated over time to conditions unsafe for use, and jeopardizing the spiritual outreach to its members and the surrounding community. Sri Lanka is a country with extremely difficult conditions for Christian believers to safely meet to practice their beliefs and to share their faith with others. So the Maryland Men of Faith took on the challenge to "Raise the Roof!" for Hatton in Sri Lanka!
2023 mission Offering
Riverside Farm School
Girls as young as 12 on the border between Zambia and Zimbabwe face an impossible choice: watch their siblings go hungry or sacrifice themselves to survive. Many are at risk of exploitation by truck drivers and others who prey on vulnerability. Child Impact International is providing a different path—one that lets these girls keep their dignity and pursue an education.
Last year, 36 girls were rescued and are now attending school at Riverside Farm. An investment of $5,400 will support five of these girls for one year, covering tuition, uniforms, school supplies, meals, and basic care so they can learn, heal, and plan a future beyond exploitation.
Give these girls a real choice: safety, schooling, and the chance to chase their dreams.
